John Krauss was born near Kraussdale, Pa. He is a graduate of Perkiomen Seminary, Class of 1897, and later attended Lehigh University, where he pursued an engineering course. For a number of years, Mr. Krauss was with the Tel. Autograph Co., as their Phila. representative, and later became treasurer and factory manager of the L. H. Gilmer Co. of Phila. who manufacture endless belts. They have several branch factories in Phila. and vicinity, and also in the South.
