For generations the Green family has been noted for its men of intellect and for its great number of college graduates. During the last century twenty-six members of the Green Family were graduates of Princeton; seven of Lafayette, and several of Columbia University, N. Y. Princeton University has been largely endowed by two members of the Green Family. The Greens were of Quaker origin. [Lehigh Valley, J.G. and L., Vol. I, p 35.]
