This family is made up from the following records:
1701, June 9, George Wigner (Mater) Maria, Sohn (but child’s name is omitted). Sponsors: Christ Geissler, George Schénwalder, George Borman, Maria Wiegnerin, Maria Wiegnerin. _[ Hadrf. Ch. Bk.]
1706, August 26, George Wiegners zur Armenruh filia Susanna. Sponsors: Christian Geissler, George Bormann, Johann Drescher, Maria Wiegnerin, Maria Wiegnerin, Maria SchénwaAlderin. | Hdrf. Ch. Bk.]
These dates obviously represent the date of baptism—ordinarily the birthday came two days earlier.
The similarity in the names of the sponsors indicates that we are here dealing with one and the same George Wiegner whose widow Maria is mentioned on p. 321 of the Gen. Rec. of 1879. It is the same George Wiegner who lived in Herrnhut when his youngest daughter, Susanna, was married to Caspar Kriebel [25-1], June 8, 1728.
