“Their children (Anno 1720) Balthasar, Anna, Melchior, Helena, Susanna, Maria.”

“The children of Melchior emigrated to America 1733 (1734). Their mother was probably too sick to go with them and besides that her husband remained also. Melchior’s ancestors were, 1655, the brothers Balthasar and Melchior Heydrich in Nieder Harpersdorf.”

“Balthasar Heydrich of Nieder Harpersdorf and Rosina, born Htibner, were married in the Duchy of Brandenburg. They stipulated 1727, were however baptized July 14, 1728 in Wiesa and emigrated with wife and child, an adopted daughter and a sister. They are living there, 1735, in Falkener (sic) Swamp. They left a fortune of 390 Reichsthaler. Besides that Christoph Heydrich had to pay them a fine of 50 Ds.” [Notes on fly leaf of Gen. Record of Hon. Christopher Heydrick.]

“Balthasar Heydrick (son of Melchior Heydrick, b 1683 and Barbara Kurk, b 1687, married Nov. 15, 1707) was baptized 15, May 1709. Record of Lutheran Church, Hadrf., Journal of Regent, the Jesuit Missionary.” [ Notes of Hon. Christopher Heydrick, p 9.]

“Balthasar Heydrick, son of George Heydrick of Niederdorf was baptized 6, March 1707. Melchior Heydrick and Barbar Kurtzin were married 15, Nov. 1707 in den Felda. Balthasar Heydrick son of Melchior Heydrick was baptized 15, May 1709.”

[Copied from Church Regisier at Harpersdorf, July 9, 1896, by Hon. Christopher Heydrick.|

Balthasar Heydrick purchased an estate in Frederick Twp., then Phila., now Montg. Co., from the Proprietaries. He was descended from George Heydrick who was confined in Liegnitz prison from 1650 until 1658 for “‘heresy.”” (Hon. Christopher Heydrick’s Gen. Rec., p 10.)

“Jacob Fouth and wife, by deed dated June 26, 1735 and recorded in the office for recording deeds in Phila., in Deed Book F, Vol. 8, p 216, conveyed two contiguous tracts of land containing 50 acres each, situate in Frederick Twp., Phila. now Montg. Co., adj. Perkiomen Creek, to Balthasar nie Consideration—one hundred and three pounds.’’ [Noles of Hon. Christopher Heydrick, p 10.

It would seem that in the interval between 1732 and 1741 the properties owned at former times by Jacob Fout and George Schweinhard had passed into the ownership of Balthasar Hevdick. [Conclusion from examination of Dotterer Records.|

Sauer’s German newspaper, ‘‘Pennsylvanische Berichte,’’ of Feb. 19, 1745, contains an advertisement by Balthasar Heidrich, in which he states that he lives near Hans Miller.

Doctor Miller and his wife, Elizabeth, are buried on the farm now owned by Mr. Samuel Foust in Frederick Twp., in the meadow, by Society Run. [John Hageman to Henry Anies—Dotterer Papers. |
