[17] MELCHIOR HUBNER, M. D. [E 17], b about 1668 in Laubgrund, Silesia; d July 12, 1738; s George and Maria (John) Hiibner; his grandmother was a sister of Dr. Martin John, Jr. From the 12th year of his age Melchior Hubner lived with Dr. Martin John in Hockenau until the death of Dr. John, and studied medicine with him. Dr. Melchior Hubner m MARIA WIEGNER [E 78], d Sept. 28, 1739; dau Matthias Wiegner of 0. Hdrf. They left Silesia with their two children on Apr. 29, 1726 [E.E.S.J.] and came to Pa. in 1734, but only one child, George, is accounted for in Pa. Dr. Melchior Hiibner had a brother, George, who d Oct. 28, 1740, in the "Feldhafiser," Silesia (cf. letter of Abraham Wagner to M. H., May, 18, 1736). Dr. Hiibner lived in Frederick Twp., Montg. Co., Pa., probably with his son George. There is no evidence that he owned property. According to tradition, Dr. Hubner and wife are buried in a plot adjoining the Henry Antes burial plot in Frederick Twp. on his own grounds in "Falckner Schwam." [Cf. [17-1a] GEORGE HUBNER [E 18], b about 1697; d Nov. 3, 1773; s Dr. Melchior and Maria (Wiegner) Hubner [17]; came to Pa. in 1734 with his parents. He bought land in Frederick Twp., Montg. Co., Pa. [Plate E IX, X, XI]. He m in the presence of witnesses and elders, Nov. 22, 1738,
ROSINA KRIEBEL [E 86] b__________ ; d Aug. 25, 1745. George Hiibner was in partnership for a time with Henry Antes of "Falckner Schwam." On Jan. 14 and 15, 1742, a Moravian Conference for the establishment of a Church Union of the various religious sects in Pa. led by Count Zinzendorf was held at Heebner's house, the minutes of which were printed. George Hubner was naturalized, May 19, 1739.

[17-1b] GEORGE HUBNER, same as above, m second time, by a Justice of the Peace, May 16, 1749, SUSANNA SCHULTZ [E 151], b Mar. 23, 1716; d Nov. 4, 1773; dau Balthasar and SuÂsanna (Dieterich) Schultz [149]. In 1769, George Mibner bought 28 acres of land in Chestnut Hill, Phila. [Plate H IV]. He moved to Chestnut Hill where both he and his second wife died and are probaÂbly buried in the Yeakle Cemetery, although no markers indicate their graves. [No issue of second marriage.]
"George Heebner, Sr., died in the month of Nov., 1773. For many years he was weak and deÂcrepit that it was surprising that he could live so long. Towards the last he lived with his brother-in-law, Christopher Yeakel who had married his second wife's sister and they were obliged to wait on him as they would a child, on account of his feebleness until he passed into eternity." On June 13, 1753, George Heebner drew up a will bequeathing his estate to wife, subject to payÂments to Nicolai, son of youngest sister: "Mein Vettern, Hans Hiibnern Kinder, Jungen Hans Hiibner, Anna Hiibner, Melcher Hiibner." [S. H.L. E.1.2b.]
George Heebner d Nov. 2, 1772, aged 56 yrs. and 7 mo. Sister Maria d before the father who d July 12, 1738. An older sister d in Goerlitz. Mother d Sept. 28, 1739; Melchior d Dec. 21, 1744; Rosina d "Jacobus" day, 1745. On Nov. 4, 1773, George Heebner d, the last known of Dr. Melchior Heebner's family. [Data from book in possession of Ambrose Miller, Reading, Pa. These dates do not agree with the foregoing.]
George Hubner settled in Falkner Swamp. On Jan. 28, 1736, he joined with Henry Antes in the purchase of 28 acres of land, and erected a grist mill on it, employing two sets of stones. This mill was the first in the community and was situated a short distance southwest of Stetler's Store.
DEED PARTICON BETWEEN HENRY ANTES AND GEORGE HIBNER
This Indenture Made this 13 day of September in year of our Lord 1747 Between Henry Antes late of the TownÂship of Fredericks Town in the County of Philadelphia but now residing at Graden Thal in the County of Bucks, Yeoman, of the one part and Georges Hibner of the Said Township Yeoman of the other Part Witnesseth that Whereas they the Said Henry Antes and Georges Hibner do Hold to them and their Heirs, respectively as Tenants in Comon A Certain Tract of Land hereafter mentioned and described containing Twenty Eight acres with the appurts which they bought and purchased with their own proper monies of and from one Francis Russ of Hanover Township in the said County of Philadelphia Yeoman in and by certain Indentures of Lease and Release of the 27 and 28 days of January 1736 made or mentioned to be made between the Said Francis Russ and Magdalene his wife of the one part, and the said Henry Antes and George Hibner of the other part, for the better accommodation of a certain Grist Mill which they erected at their Joint Expense on the adjacent Land of the said Henry Antes which Grist Mill and the Toll and Profit thereof they held in co-partnership during a certain Term of years and the Term of their co-partnership being expired and their company accounts being adjusted and settled. They the said parties and this present IndenÂture do hereby mutually release each other of and from all actions and causes of action for or concerning their coÂpartnership or any other matter or cause whatsoever preceding the Date of this present Indenture. Now This IndenÂture Further Witnesseth that the said parties to this present Indenture Do hereby make a full and perfect Partition and Division of the Premises to and amongst them in manner following that is to say, That the said George Hibner his heirs and assigns Shall have all That the aforesaid Twenty eight acres of Land.
Together with all and Singular the right ways woods water privileges Buildings Improvements and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging except as hereafter mentioned to be excepted To hold and enjoy the same except before excepted to him the said George Hibner and his heirs to the use of him the said George Hibner his heirs and assigns forever.
In severally as his full part Share or Dividend of the said Land Grist Mill and premises and that the said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns shall have all that the said Grist Mill with the Two Pair of Stones under One Roof. TogethÂer also with all and singular the Houses Buildings Gears Members and Utensils in the use and Service of the said Grist Mill or thereunto belonging or reputed as part parcel or member thereof and also the free right and privilege to and for the said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns owners or occupiers of the aforesaid Grist Mill to Dam or Swell the water from Time to Time on the Twenty eight acres aforesaid to such a Height as that there shall and may be Eight foot and four inches waterfall at least, measuring from the Head of Water at the Flood Gate before the Wheel to the Top of the Roaster behind it and no more, except upon extraordinary occasions which may happen from Floods of water which then may overrun the Dam.
Together with all and Singular the ways watercourses Free Boards Rights Liberties and privileges whatsoever unto the aforesaid Mills belonging or in any wise appertaining and all the Mulcture Toll and profits of the Same Mills, To Hold and Enjoy the same Grist Mills unto the Said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns for ever and in Severallty as his full part Share and Dividend of and in the said Twenty-eight acres of Land Grist Mill and Premises and in egard the part of the said Henry Antes by Virtue of this partition is esteemed of Greater value than the part of ther said George Hibner by the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Pounds. Therefore the said Henry Antes hath at and before the sealing and Delivery hereof well and truly paid unto the Said George Hibner the same One Hundred and Fifty Pounds, The Receipt whereof he the said George Hibner Doth hereby acknowledge and thereof Doth acquit and forever discharge the said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns by these presents give grant release and confirm unto the said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns all That the said Grist Mill and all other the premises with the appurtenance herein before mentioned to be allotted unto the Said Henry Antes for his part and all the Estate Right Title and InterÂest which the said George Hibner hath or may or ought to have of in or to the same and every part thereof.
To Have and To Hold to the said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns To the use of him the said Henry Antes his heirs and assigns forever and the Said Henry Antes Doth by these presents give grant release and confirm unto the said George Hibner his heirs and Assigns,
All That the said Twenty Eight Acres of Land and Premises with the Appurtenance except the right and privilege to Dam the water to the Height aforesaid herein before mentioned to be allotted to the Said George Hibner and All the Estate Right Title and Interest which the said Henry Antes hath or may or ought to have of in or to the same (except before excepted.)
To Have and To Hold to him the said George Hibner his heirs and assigns to the use and the said parties to their
present Indenture do for themselves their heirs Executors Administrators and assigns respectfully mutually covenant and grant that each of them the said parties their heirs and assigns respectfully shall and may from henceforth for ever peaceably and quietly hold and enjoy the parts and premises according to each one's share as hereinbefore divided or allotted without the Let Suit Trouble or Molestation of the other of the said Parties his heirs or Assigns or of any
other person or persons claiming under him or them or by his or their means Title Consent or Procurement.

Before me Rowland Evans, Esqr. one of the Justices in and for the County of Philadelphia personally appeared Adolph Meyer of Lower Salford Township in the said County Practitioner in Physick and upon his Solemn Affirmation According to Law did declare and depose That he his affirmant was present and did see the above named George Hibner Seal and as his Act and Deed Deliver the above Indenture and that his this Affirmant's Name thereunto Subscribed as a Witness to such Sealing and Delivery is of his own proper Handwriting and that together with him this affirmant Abraham Heidrick the other subscribing Witness did also Sign his name in his presence as a Witness thereof.

WILL OF GEORGE HUBNER

In the Name of God
Since we as human beings are all mortal and hence do not know how soon we may be called away from this world. I desire to record while memory and understanding are good, my last will and testament and what shall be done after my death with the worldly goods with which the Lord blessed me. In the first place I commend my soul into the hands of him from whom I received it.
And further all my worldly possessions, house, home and all the land I own, whether adjacent to my house or not, of which I hold deeds, as well as all live stock, utensils, household goods, money, and valuables beside all personal property by whatever name known, without exception whether deeds, bonds, notes, book-accounts or whatever it may be I convey and bequeath without exception to my beloved wife, Susanna FIiibnerin, to have and to hold for herself and her heirs or to whom she may convey or bequeath the same, to use and dispose of according to her own will and pleasure to sell or to hold as she pleases.
Nevertheless, my beloved wife, Susanna Hiibnerin, as true and lawful heiress of my estate shall pay to the son of
my youngest sister, Maria, named Nicolai 40 pounds, say forty pounds Pennsylvania currency. But as
this, my young nephew (Vetter) resides in. Germany and thus far removed she shall have the right to retain the money without interest until opportunity is found in one way or another to forward the same.
In addition she shall pay to the children of my "Vetter," Hans Hiibner, eight pounds each, namely to Hans HubÂner, Jr., 8 pounds, Pennsylvania currency, to Melchior Hubner also 8 pounds, and to Anna HUbnerin also 8 pounds, Pennsylvania currency, within one year after my decease upon the giving of proper receipts.
I hereby appoint my beloved wife, Susanna Hiibnerin, as true heiress and executrix of this my last will and testaÂment for herself and her heirs or to whom she may bequeath the same for all time and shall not, except as specified above, be obligated to make payments of money.
And this shall be considered and accepted as my last will and testament and none earlier than this shall be reÂcognized, for the fuller confirmation of which I have by my own hand subscribed and sealed the same.

In the Name of God, Amen. Whereas I, George Heebner, of Frederick Township and County of Philadelphia, yeoman Considering the uncertainty of life of us mortal Men consequently I thought it might be necessary and proper being of sound Memory and Understanding to have my mind litterally put down concerning My Estate wherewith it pleased God to bless me in this World in what maner the said shall be disposed after my decease. ThereÂfore I do hereby this 15th day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and sixty two make my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz:
Imprimis: I commit my Soul unto God of whom I received the same and concerning my worldly Estate I give grant and bequeath all my Real Estate that is to say All my Plantation Tenement Tract of Land Whereon I now Dwell Situate in Frederick Township, as well as all and every other Tract or Tracts, Parcel or Parcels of Land whereÂsoever held by me, unto my Dear and loving Wife, Susannah, together with all and Singular the buildings and ImÂprovements thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining according to the Bounds and Limits conveyed to me, and the Reversions and Remainders thereof to have and to hold the said my Plantation Tract or Tracts or Parcels of Land wheresoever situated both Jointly and severally according to metes and bounds aforesaid with the Improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said my loving wife, Susannah, and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever. Item, I give and bequeath unto the said my loving wife Susannah and to her heirs for ever all my Personal Estate that is to say, all my Stock, Goods, Chattels, Cash, Bonds, Notes, Specialties and Book-Debts whatsoever and wheresoever, the same being my Just and legal property (except) the Legacies hereafter mentioned to be paid by her under the hereby mentioned Limitations and Restrictions that is to say, Whereas I left my Sister Mary in GerÂmany she being married to one J. Xtopher Nicolai at Gorlitz in Lusatia Gardner by whom she had a son his name unknown to us at present and the said my sister is since deceased, therefore the said my wife shall Endeavor to inform herself if the said my Sister Son is alive and if he is still alive, to acquaint him that if he will send his proper Direction Attested by one Superior Magistrate of the Place of his abode at least he is to have Forty pounds lawful Money of Pennsylvania out of my Estate for him and his lawful Heirs for a Remembrance of his Uncle, and my wife is to pay this said Forty Pounds as soon as she received the said his Direction against a discharge for the same by the Person or Persons ordered by him to Receive it, but no Interest is to be demanded or paid for the same of or by her, her ExecuÂtors or Administrators until the Time the said his Direction is received, Item, the said my wife Susannah is likewise to pay unto my deceased Uncles John Heebner's three children to each of them Eight pounds, Lawful money of PennÂsylvania that is to say, I give unto the said my Uncles son John Heebner the sum of Eight Pounds lawful money aforesaid and to his son Melchior Eight pounds Lawful money aforesaid and to his Daughter Ann Grob Eight pounds lawfull money to be paid by the said my wife unto each of them within a years time after my decease against a full discharge for the same of every one of them to her the said my wife And I do hereby appoint and Constitute the said
my loving wife Susannah Sole Executrix of this my Last [Will] & Testament and by these Presents Do Revoke and

I George Heebner of Frederick Township and County of Philadelphia Yeoman Do this 27th day of November Anno Domini one thousand seven hundred and sixty-nine make and publish this my Codicil to the above my last Will and Testament bearing date the 15th May A. D. 1762 in manner following (that is to say) First I do acknowledge the said my Will as my free act and do confirm in every respect and article and to all intents and purposes and having since that time lately sold my Lands and Plantation mentioned in the said my Will and have bought some other Tract of Land and Premises on Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia County, I do Will and declare that after my decease the same sense and meaning I have expressed in the said my Last Will concerning the Devise of the said lands and Plantation in Frederick Township aforesaid shall be applied and stand good and be inviolate upon and concerning the said Tract of Land newly bought by me, as well also with every Tract or Tracts Parcel or Parcels of Land I shall have and be in legal Possession or Rights to me or my decease namely.
I give bequeath and devise the same with all the Rights and Appurtenances unto my loving wife Susannah and to her Heirs and Assigns for ever, and whereas I have Reason to apprehend by the lingering sickness of the same my wife Susannah that perhaps she may Die before me and considering the infirmity of my Bodily constitution, nor knowing how long further I maybe of such able and sufficient sense as by the grace of God I now am .I do hereby declare That if my said loving wife do die before me That then and in that case my Will is that all my just debts shall first be paid off, and that everyone who has assisted and supported me in my infirmity or Sickness before my decease, and all such as had or has trouble or charges about my Body or my Estate shall be honestly paid and rewarded for the same out of my undivided Estate, likewise also all the Legacies I have given to my Uncles (children) in my last Will shall be paid by my Executors in the same manner and the same sum as in the Will is donated out of my undivided Estate.
Further it is my will in that Case that all my Estate both Real and Personal Which is my Will I have given to my wife Susannah or the value of the same shall be divided into five equal parts one equal fifth part whereof I give and bequeath unto my Brother-in-law George Schultz-Senr of Upper Hanover Township and County of Philadelphia yeoman his heirs and assigns forever. The second equal fifth part I give and bequeath to my Sister in Law Anna Weegner, wife of Christopher Weegner of Lower Solford and the same County yeoman, her Heirs and Assigns forever. The third equal fifth part thereof I give and bequeath to my Sister-in-Law Mary Yeackle wife of Christopher Yeackle of Germantown and same County yeoman, her Heirs and Assigns forever, the fourth equal fifth part thereof I give and bequeath to my Sister in law Barbara Heebner wife of John Christopher Heebner of Worcester and the same County yeoman, her heirs and Assigns forever. The Remaining fifth part I give and bequeath one equal half of the same to the School Erected among the Religious Society called Schwenkfeldians, to be paid by my Executors to the Trustees of the said School this being and to be applied by the said Trustees to and in such purposes as the Plan and Articles of the Said School direct. The other equal half of the said equal fifth Part of my Estate my Executors shall pay unto the Alms box of the said People called Schwenkfeldians toward the Relief of the Poor among the said People and a Receipt of four Substantial Persons of the said People confessing the payment of the same into the said Alms Box shall be a sufficient discharge for my Executors in that matter.
Item In that case I will and Ordain that my Executors here after named, or the Survivors of such Executors or the Executors and Administrators of Such Executor for and toward the performance of my Codicil shall with all Convenient Speed after my decease Bargain Sell and Alien in fee Simple all those Lands which at nay decease I shall possess or have a Right for the doing executing and perfect finishing whereof I do by these presents give grant Will and Transfer to my said Executor or the Survivor of them or such Survivors Executors or Administrators full power and authority to grant alien bargain sell convey and assure all such land and Promises to any person or persons and their Heirs and Assigns for ever by all and every such lawful ways and means in the Law as to my Executors or the Survivors of them etc shall seem fit and necessary and also in that Case I do make constitute and appoint my Brother-in-Law Christopher Yeackle of Germantown Aforesaid yeoman and my trusty Friend Christopher Schultz of Hereford Township and Berks County yeoman executors of my Last Will and Testament and of this Codicil of the same And Lastly it is my Desire that this present Codicil be annexed to and be a part of my Last Will and Testament to all Intents and purposes.
