[11-9b] MARY (NICE) RITTENHOUSE, same as above, m 2d time ABRAHAM RITTEN- HOUSE, b 1723; d 1815.

Children (8):

1. Enoch, b 1773; d 1855; unm; miller.
2. Samuel; d aged 22 yr., unm. [11-28] 3. Jacob, d 1856; m Hester Brunner.

In 1815 Abraham Rittenhouse made a will in which he bequeathed $50 to the Mennonite Meeting House of Germantown; $50 to his house-keeper; and the balance to his three sons, Enoch, Samuel, and Jacob. This makes it appear that his wife Mary preceded him in death. In 1825, Enoch Rittenhouse of Roxborough, miller, gave deed, wife did not join in deed. Indicates he was not married then. In his will he bequeaths most of his Estate to his cousins’ children, and mentions his brother Jacob, but not his brother’s children, which would indicate that his brother Jacob had no children, and that Enoch himself was not married. The family seems to have died out.
