Daniel Yeakel was born on the ancestral land at Chestnut Hill, Phila., purchased by his great grandfather, Christopher Yeakle, prior to the war of the Revolution. He attended the schools in Cheltenham and in Chestnut Hill. After leaving school Mr. Yeakel assisted his father on the farm until after his marriage when he rented the homestead farm and during the remainder of his life he was engaged in agriculture.

All during his active life Mr. Yeakel manifested a deep interest in public matters connected with the township, and aided greatly in its development. [ Hist. Montg. Co.]
