[43-2] MARIA MESCHTER, b Dec. 21, 1736; dau Gregorius and Maria (Krauss) Meisther [43]; m Dec. 20, 1762, ANDREW DAGUE of Lancaster Co., Pa. [This information is obtained from records in S. H. L.J

The editor was not able to trace descendants of this family conclusively, but from court records and traditions handed down in the various Dague families hereinafter listed, we think we are justified in including these families in the list of Sechwenkfelder descendants.

In Will Book V, 1:783, Lanc. Co., Pa., we find the will of Andrew Dague, probated Dec. 6, 1854. This Andrew lived in Salisbury Twp., Lance. Co., and mentions the following:

“Daughter Mary, wife of Clemson B. Moore of Indiana; daughter Ann, wife of John Lora; daughter Rachel, wife of Christian Yoder; my grandson, David, son of my son Andrew; my daughter, Leah, her daughter Mary Ann Cooper, wife of Jacob Fretz.”

The daughter Leah appears to have been a lunatic. He also mentions “‘my five children, Andrew, David, Mary, Ann, Rachel.’ The executors were his son, David Dague, and son-in-law, John Lora,

both of Salisbury Twp., Pa. They were empowered to sell his real estate in the state of Pennsylvania or elsewhere.

In D. B. P. 8, 57:110, the heirs of Andrew Dague were given as follows in 1856:

David Dague, Andrew Dague, Mary Moore, Ann Lora, David Dague, Jr., Marianne Fritz, Andrew Yoder, Christian Yoder, Anne Mary Yoder, Clemson B. Moore of Franklin Co., Indiana, and Mary, his wife, late Mary Dague.

We believe the above named Andrew Dague was a grandson of Andrew Dague and Maria Meschter. On the above hypothesis we arrange the Dague families as follows:

[48-2] MARIA MESCHTER, m ANDREW DAGUE in 1762; had at least one son: [48-12.1] Andrew, m Ann

In 1797, Dec. 30, Andrew Deig (Dague) and wife Ann of Salisbury Twp., sold 39 A. of Land [Lanc. Court Records W. 3.708]. In 1804, Mar. 31, the same parties gave a mortgage for 107 A. and 10 A. [Lanc. Court Records O. 3.157]. They sold these tracts of 107 and 10 acres Apr. 14, 1807.
