The ordination certificate in possession of Clarke M. Seltzer, Lebanon, Pa., shows that John Gring was ordained by the Reformed Synod on Sept. 30, 1824, Wilhelm Hendel being the President of the Synod and signing the certificate. John Gring lived in Fredericksburg, Lebanon Co., Pa., and preached in the church there. He also served several other charges at the same time, in other parts of Lebanon Co.
